The Interesting Recipes and Thanksgiving Things People Are ...

While we're all thinking Thanksgiving... what are you planning on having for the meal? According to Google, lots of us are researching Thanksgiving terms and recipes--and many of them are little slices of awesome.

I love this stuff--I'm a little nosy, in general, but it's especially cool to see what people, where, are Googling. Look:

Searches for "Thanksgiving Catering" are up more than 12 percent over last year, and are most popular in New York, New Jersey, and Illinois.

Fried turkey is more popular than ever this year; the search term "how to fry a turkey" is most popular in South Carolina, Louisiana, Mississippi, and Alabama.

Washington, Colorado, and Connecticut have the most searches for "organic turkey."

"Wine with turkey" is most popular in Connecticut, Pennsylvania, and Colorado.

There have been more than double the amount of searches for "how to make gravy" than "how to make" other recipes (like cranberry sauce, mashed potatoes, and stuffing).

Searches for "Thanksgiving Jell-O" have risen 266 percent from November 4 to November 17. (Whoa!)

"Gluten free Thanksgiving" searches have risen 53 percent since 2010; "vegan Thanksgiving" searches have risen 35 percent since 2010 ("vegan stuffing" is the most popular vegan recipe search!). The searches for both gluten-free and vegan are most popular in California.

Louisiana leads in Google searches for ambrosia recipes.

In the last 30 days, searches for Thanksgiving desserts are highest in Massachusetts, Texas, Georgia, Pennsylvania and Ohio.

The "hot terms" related to Thanksgiving desserts: "best Thanksgiving desserts"; "chocolate Thanksgiving desserts"; "cute Thanksgiving desserts"; and "pumpkin Thanksgiving desserts."

Pumpkin pie searches are most popular in Oregon, apple pie searches are most popular in Maine, and pecan pie searches are most popular in Mississippi.

Did your state show up in any of these? What recipes have you been Googling?
