New Orleans police are searching for a missing teenager, last seen at a homeless shelter in the Treme-Lafitte neighborhood Saturday morning. The New Orleans Police Department said 17-year-old Samantha Genola has been missing since Saturday around noon.
She was last seen at Covenant House, a shelter for at-risk youth, in the 600 block of North Rampart Street.
Genola is described as 5 feet, 6 inches tall and weighs about 115 pounds. According to a statement issued by NOPD, Genola was recently diagnosed with bipolar disorder and could possibly pose a threat to both society and herself if she does not receive her medication.
