CARACAS, Venezuela ? Venezuelan President Hugo Chavez is hosting a meeting of allies and says the leaders will discuss Argentina's long-running dispute with Britain over the Falkland Islands.
Chavez says he is concerned about the issue of the islands, where a war of words over the archipelago has heated up in recently.
Chavez brought up the issue on Saturday night at the start of a meeting of the eight-nation Bolivarian Alliance bloc, or ALBA. The leaders of Cuba, Nicaragua, Ecuador, Bolivia, Haiti and Antigua and Barbuda are participating.
Chavez says Suriname's president, Desi Bouterse, will arrive on Sunday to join the talks.
The Venezuelan leader says the leaders also will discuss economic cooperation efforts.
